Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt General Terms and Conditions

General terms:

With the registration to a course starts a contract between the customer and Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt. The registration can be done via the handwritten Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt registration form or via the online registration form. Clicking on the button “Proceed with booking (costs apply)” represents a legally binding declaration of intent which, once confirmed by Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt, results in a contracted service. This applies to every type of course, in particular to group, private and firm courses.
By registering, the customer commits themselves to paying course fees in full before the beginning of the course. The course fees are to be paid immediately, by the beginning of the course at the latest. The customer is advised to pay within 30 days of receiving the invoice. Several ways of payment are available: bank transfer, cash payment and PayPal.
The booking of any course requires a binding Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt is obligated to deliver the course only in the case when it has received the course fees in full.
A single class period of any course lasts 45 minutes.
Registration, cancellation and other requests by phone or directly in person in our office are not accepted. Registration, cancellation and requests of any kind must be done in written form via e-mail. Our teaching staff is not authorised to accept any registration, cancellation or other
Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt has final say in appointing a teacher to any course. Course participants cannot raise a claim to appoint a specific teacher for their lessons.
Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt strives to organise the learning material in a way that fulfils the customer’s However, Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt takes no responsibility for failing to reach a certain language level or in case the language exam results are not satisfactory.
The language course prices at Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt do not include the German value-added Any added value expenses that incur from being outside of Germany are the responsibility of the customer.
Concerning online courses: Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt is not responsible for electric, system or device failures. The customer is therefore not entitled to ask for a refund or a substitute lesson in this case. It is generally recommended to log into the lesson 5 to 10 minutes before the scheduled start. In case of a 15-minute or longer delay, Sprachschule Aktiv is allowed to keep the virtual lesson room closed.
Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt ensures a „zero-tolerance policy” in terms of harassment or provocation against students and teachers, or interfering with the lessons. Any complaint can be logged with the school managers.

Cancellation policy and other termination rights:

The contract can be cancelled within 14 days after the signature, without any justification necessary. To exercise the right of cancellation, Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt must be informed with a clear written statement. For this purpose, the customer can use the following sample cancellation form.

Consequences of cancellation

If the customer has already started to benefit from the services during the period of cancellation, they must pay for the service already provided.
The booking of the course is made in advance for a fixed period and/or a fixed number of class periods. In cases when the participant does not attend the course and/or interrupts the lessons, they are not entitled to a refund for that part of the course, or to a substitute course.
The customer has the right to cancel their reservation after the first lesson if the course doesn’t correspond to their expectations. Evening courses contain 24 class periods, which are regularly pre-scheduled for 12 different days. The starting dates for each course are pre-fixed. Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt reserves the right to reschedule or otherwise modify these dates, in exceptional circumstances. In case of any such change, the course participants will be notified in advance.
If a language course does not reach the minimum required number of 4 participants, Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the course, or to change it into a mini-group course. Trial lessons:

Trial lessons for private and company courses last 45 minutes. The registration for a trial lesson must be done through the Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt registration formular, by adding the note “Trial lesson” in the field “Remarks”.
Trial lessons are a voluntary service provided by Sprachschule Aktiv and are not binding for the customers. There is no right to a free trial lesson. If the customer is not satisfied with the trial lesson, they are under no further obligation to the school.
In case of a registration to a course following the trial lesson, the trial lesson is counted within the price as a regular class period.
If the customer requests a trial lesson and does not attend the agreed-upon appointment, they receive the invoice for the regular price of a class period.
A cancellation of the trial lesson must be sent in written form to Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt (via E-mail at ingolstadt@sprachschule-aktiv.de), 24 hours before the scheduled trial lesson. Only in such a way can the appointment be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge.

Special regulations for German courses that include certificates for visas:

To receive a certificate for a visa, one must have a registered contract for one or more intensive courses.
Based on this contract, the applicant first receives a confirmation of registration and a bill with the full fee for the booked courses.
After the school has acquired at least 50% of the payment amount of the invoice (the whole course fees in case of a single 4-week intensive course), the customer will receive an official confirmation from Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt, signed and stamped, in PDF format. The other 50% of the invoice must be paid at the beginning of the course at the latest.
If the course fees are not paid 7 days before the beginning of the course, Sprachschule Aktiv has the right to consider the course as Additionally, the school is within the right to inform the local immigration office of potential visa fraud by the visa applicant.
The applicant has the duty to inform the school about any news, modifications, and, especially, delays throughout the whole process of visa application. The rescheduling request must be sent via E-mail in written form.
As soon as the visa has been granted or denied, the school must be informed without delay.
In case of denial, the denial letter must be presented to the school. In this situation, the already-paid fees will be reimbursed, except for 250.00 EUR the school retains as administrative fees.
The visa for an attendee of the language courses only covers attending courses on the premises of our school. It does not allow for a transfer to another branch of the group Sprachschule Aktiv or to another institute.
If the participant is absent from the course for more than 2 course days, without giving any justification, the school can inform the local immigration office of this absence at the German courses. Class attendance is strictly mandatory.
Language courses on the basis of a visa are binding. Participation in the lessons is obligatory. The courses are booked within a pre-fixed time period and/or for a pre-fixed number of class hours. Termination rights, described in Article 2, or refunds of the course fees are not possible. Vouchers:

Cash pay-outs of vouchers are not
A voucher is valid for 3 years after its issue date.
Vouchers can be redeemed for another language course, after an agreement with Sprachschule Aktiv.
The above-mentioned conditions concerning language courses remain valid for the redemption of vouchers.

Sprachschule Aktiv Ingolstadt does not take any responsibility in case of damage, accidents or injuries sustained by the course participant, nor in case of theft or damage to personal property during the course hours or on the way to or from the school.
